AT Commands

Cordep Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Hi all, I'm still trying to establish connection with a modem, i'm trying to send AT commands, in Hyper Terminal if i put AT and press ENTER key the modem sends back OK, but i cannot do the same with the PLC (CPU 226), i believe i'm sending in a wrong way the Enter.... here how i'm writing to the modem: LD SM0.0 MOVB 3, VB100 MOVB 'A', VB101 MOVB 'T', VB102 MOVB 13, VB103 ->this is theENTER but nohing happens when i send it, the modem doesn't respond [:(] Anyone have any idea of what am i doing wrong? is any other way to send the enter?! Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi Cordep, what are the settings at RS232 PPI-cable? Try: DIP 5 and 6 ON all others OFF. A different way it to use the DB1. Enter in the DB1: VB100 3 VB1001 'AT', 13 This is more user friendly and you save User memory because you do not need to program the AT's in the user program. By the way if you press "CTRL" and ENTER at the end of the line then you get the next address displayed in the next line. I hope this helps Regards Helmut

richErich Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi Cordep, You must execute the AT command ATE0 to turn off the local echo. It doesn't matter when you are using hyperterminal but it seems to confuse things when you send the commands from the plc to the modem and echo is enabled. Collision perhaps?

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, have you changed the PLC port to Freeport mode (ASCII)? Resposible for the Port mode is SMB30 (Port0) and SMB130 (Port1). How do you send the AT commands? Please observe with the XMT instruction you have to use a String. For a string the first byte must contain the numbers of ASCII charackters you want to send. Example you wan to send 'AT' and 13 (CR) then you string is VBx0 4 (for 3 charackters to send) VBx1 = 'A' VBx2 = 'T' VBx3 = 13 (CR) The complete instruction to send this string at port 0 is: XMT VBx0 , 0 I hope this helps.
