J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear SM, I have to tell you that now I am even a bit more confused... because your answer does not comply with your first question... at least in my mind. So if you just want to know if you can put a Y-Link in a S7-300 Rack than the answer is yes, but in this case you can not add any IO Module to the Y-Link directly, this can only be done with other DP Slaves (single sided). A Y-Link has adesignatedlook how the setup of this thing has to look like. You can not put a Y-Coupler into a S7-300 also not together with other I/O Modules. The Y coupler must be the only module on that drop, i.e., you cannot have a Y coupler combined with I/O modules on the same Profibus-DP drop. The current documentation for the Y-link explains this all very well, and in fact, you should purchase the Y-link as a single order number rather than trying to piece it together out of the various parts.

Everybody talks about the same Rack... but for me the Rack is only the backplane ofthe S7-300... there I have no Problem with, but as soon as you would say that you want to have a redundant Head of a ET 200 M and than some IO and after that a Y Coupler, than I have a problem. As said, if you want to have a redundant DP Slave with IO you can use an IM 153-2 in redundant manor, no question. If you want a YLink with additional single sidedDP Slaves on the single PROFIBUS DP Interfaceconnected to the Y Link this is no question too. Please do not mix that up. Best regards J_Bell
