is your used encoder really suitable for this module? The supported encoder/signal types are:

• SSI absolute encoder
• RS422/TTL incremental encoder with N signal
• RS422/TTL incremental encoder without N signal
• RS422/TTL pulse encoder with direction signal
• RS422/TTL pulse encoder without direction signal
• RS422/TTL pulse encoder with up/down count Signal
