Hi!
I'm trying to establish data exchange between S7 1517 with communication module CP 1542-5 as a Master and S7 300 with communication module CP342-5 as a Slave and i get an unknown error.
HW configuration is set with GSD files of communication modules.
Addresses are 6 for master and 2 for slave, cable is fine.
In online diagnostics the status of module says "error in lower-level component", nothing more.

Oddly enough there are no mistakes from s7 300 side and it can see that Master is online in network diagnosis.

If i switch roles and CP 342 - 5 becomes Master then the error is gone but for my project i need S7 1500 as a Master.

I've already checked all similar topics and found no solution for me.What could i check to find the reason of this mistake?

Hello,

When S7-300 is master, everything is working fine? (So data is exchanged)

When S7-1500 is master, you get error in Profibus slave (S7-300)

Did you parameterize the Transfer data right? (On both sides?)

When S7 300 is master there is no such error on my side with S7 1500 but data exchange still isn't working.

To clarify for data exchange of S7 1500 i use DPWR DAT and DPRD DAT blocks and on the S7 300 side i use DP_SEND and DP_RECV blocks.
I tried to send and receive 8 word signals both ways and 0 data exchanged (DB has only 8 word signals for both cpu). No error on both sides, status code on the block is 0, just no data exchange.

Parameters of transfer data are matched, transmission speed is 1.5 Mbps, consistency parameter is total length, for S7 1500 input addresses correspond to output addresses on the S7 300 side, the output addresses of the S7 1500 correspond to the input addresses of the S7 300.

Sorry for late replay, yes, i've read this article and it didn't help me to solve the issue.

Instead of attaching screenshots i'd rather give you my projects which i used for testing, i think it would be more convenient to check for mistakes because i'm pretty sure every parameter is set right...

Projects are made in Tia Portal V17 and Step 7 5.7.

Is it possible for you to check it please?
