Hi All, I was working on an S7 1200 PLC and it was working very well, suddenly I got an error and my PLC got disconnected. I tried to re-connect it but it didn't. The Run/Stop light was blinking from Green to Orange at first, so I rebooted the PLC and then I saw all the lights were blinking (Run/Stop, Error and Maintenance). I turned it off for some time and then tried it again, this time a orange light was blinking and when I connected CB1241 module a green light started to blink in Run/Stop. Now, the latest status is that none of the lights are turning ON and only the Link light turns on (green) when ethernet is connected). Also, I was never able to communicate with my TIA Portal after this incident. |

When you are online with your S7-1200 PLC, visit the Online & Diagnostics section of the PLC. From there, open the "Diagnostics Buffer". Save the diag buffer "as" a file so you can upload it here. Of course, by looking at the various RED marked entries, you may find out why the LEDs are flashing GREEN and ORANGE. You can also look in the s7-1200 system manual for the LED descriptions for GRN/ORG flashing - or search these forums for "S7-1200 LED" and within a few forum topics, you will see the reason Siemens says those LEDs will flash. Of the above, what have you already done?

I forgot to export the Diagnostics Buffer readings when my PLC was online. Now my PLC won't even connect with my PC & the indications won't light up either. When I connect my Ethernet with the PLC Link light is glowing other than that..nothing glows. From what I remember I got a message saying there was an error in the lower components which was my CB1241 Board. |

Power off the PLC and then physically remove the CB1241 (temporarily). Power the PLC back up. It will have a diagnostics error because the CB1241 is removed. However, it might at least boot back up so you can login locally again. Is the PLC getting 24V (assuming it is a DC powered S7-1200)?

I tried this step and connected my 24V DC, still the lights were not powered up. When I connect the Ethernet cable the Link light is glowing but my PC won't detect it. |

I don't know how this happened.. I tried to turn on my PLC and now I can see the lights were blinking. I tried to connect through the TIA portal but it wouldn't appear on the list. Lights were blinking for a while and after a few mins it shut down gradually. Now it's not turning on. So my if my PLC is switched ON now the lights will glow for sometime & then it will shutdown. If I try it again few mins later it will turn on again. Why is this happening? |
