Hi, We are looking at sending a signal from a PLC to a receiver on the far side of the site and want to verify that the distance is acceptable. The analogue output module that we are using is the S7-1200 SM 1232 which has a maximum load impedance of 600 ohms for the current output. If the input resistance of the receiver is 280 ohms and we are using a 22 AWG twisted pair cable with a resistance of 49.2 ohms per km could we theoretically send this signal across a distance of up to 6.5km without any issues? The actual distance we want to cover is much smaller than this but I was surprised by how far was possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
