this is a big field you are diving into.

First you would need the hardware on plc side (analogue output) and a frequency converter to controll the speed of the motor.

If you have the motor you or a supplier can select the converter that fits. To control the converter the analogue signal is quite common. Usually you have 2 or 3 digital signals (start/turning direction/reset) and the speed via analogue signal (0-10V).

Normally you also have a software from the supplier of the converter (Siemens, ABB, Danfoss...) to setup the converter correctly (motor data, interface...).

In your plc program you need to program the signals to the converter properly. For the analogue output I attach an example. What you need to do when you call the FB1209 is insert the correct values. In this example it is a pressure valve going from 0 to 6 bar. This is the physical value. The 0 to 27648 is the decimal value for the analogue outout. AW10 is the analogue output.
