configuring a non profibus device

Zeek Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have a laser marking system which is controlled by a PC. I need to communicate with a S7-400 series PLC via my digital I/O and send a simple ASCII data string from my serial port. I would like to know the easiest way to do this. Can I get a remote I/O block that supports discrete I/O and RS-232 in a Profibus DP slave mode?

Two possibility: - Use a CP441 in the S7-400 rack. - Use a DP-slave: ET200S, with Digital I/O and a Communication module 1SI (6ES7 138-4DF00-0AB0) Hope this will help you, Best regards Wizard
