 anybody tested S7-400H & S7-1200 Communication via profinet/ profibus ? 

After about 4 hours trying to get it working with GET/PUT on S7400, I tried with the communication from the 1200 side. Working.

In our curently project we have CPU414H redundant system and one S7-1200 1212C CPU.
We want to communicate 414H system between S7-1200 via Enternet.
In our previus project we make S7 connection CPU414 single sytem between S7-1200 via ethernet, it was ok. (Parner: unspecified)
But in our curently project we are using 400H system. I'm creating S7 Connection Rack_0 CPU between S7-1200 Unspecified partner.
Communication status is "Being established right now". For the testing I'm creating a new S7 Connection Rack_1 CPU between S7-1200CPU with new Connection ID. It didn't work also.

I have one more spare single 400 station, for testing I used this CPU as Master, it was ok. Connection status: "Set up"

In Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H System Manual (A5E00267695-07) page 176 tell it is possible.
Is possible in Unspecified partner S7 Connection?

 Check with this option it may be possible that it is not checked

The proven communication is Modbus TCP single sided redundancy communication. I have done this and working perfectly. But for that you need license at 400H side.

You can configure the Get/Put at S71200 side for both 400H CPU. In S71200 CPU property you need to enable the Get/Put access protection for OPC, HMI communication etc under protection tab.

S7 1200 PLC will Put data as per you request to both CPU but who is master only that CPU will receive the data.

After having some trouble with the same issue I now have this setup working.

PUT and GET setup in the S7-400H to retrieve and send data to a S7-1200.

My setup has unspecified connections defined in both the S7-400H and S7-1200 (using connection resources >= 10)

Be careful to ensure the definition matches in both sides for rack/slot and connection resource. Also in the S7-1200, i found by default the SIMATIC-ACC checkbox was checked which i had to disable before i could define a custom connection resource for the S7-1200.

See attached for a working setup in terms of hardware/netpro config of both sides.

In my program i am using PUT/GET in the S7-400H. I had to call 2 separate GET blocks, one for each connection ID. Only one GET block is called during program execution, determined by which S7-400H CPU is master (Info from SFC51). I found that the GET block did not like a change in the connection ID input parameter so i ended up with 2 GET blocks, identical in parameter apart from connection ID. The same applies for the PUT blocks.

One question tough: with this solution you have only one connection to the S71200, if you need the redundancy working, you need to declare two connections to the S7-1200, one for each 400H CPUs, right?
