Field PG boot problem

AutoGen_7497379 Member Joined: 6/29/2018 Last visit: 8/8/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I have a field PG M5 with a boot problem. A cold start of the PG always works. Startup in the morning and shutdown in the evening is no problem. But when I shutdown windows and restart by pushing the power button, the message "no boot disk found" appears on the screen. The only solution to boot, is to wait for more then 1 hour. Then PG boots normal. There is never a crash of the system during operation. A warm restart of windows works normal by choosing "restart" instead of "shutdown" in Windows. What can be the problem? Bad harddisk?

Maybe you can check with a hard disk analysis tool to see if there is a problem detected in any sector (it is possible that it has been damaged). Another test I can think of, is to try, when you boot and this error appears, boot again and access the BIOS to see if the hard drive is recognised. Also check the BIOS version here and if it is old, you might want to consider upgrading.

Duris_I Diamond Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 10585 Rating: (825)	Hello, it looks like some BIOS settings problem, not saved cfg due some not correct parameters set or options inside BIOS. Check BIOS for first to have cfg ok and correctly set and saved. Pay attention to some options like backup settings to some flash for store to future case.
