I recommend finding the OSCAT.de open source SCL library and associated documentation.  In that library are quite a few STRING related SCL function blocks which you can import into your project and use.

Hello guys,

I've been through a project where I'm communicating a PLC (Siemens S7-1500) to a pump. I have a need to get some parameters from the pump, I've written a block logic to get the details.

There are some specific commands to send the get different response, for example, if sent the command #1ASK!, I will received (in a String Tag):

Command sent:

#1ASK!

******************************

TABLE(EMPTY)

PUMP(ON)

CONTROL(FLOW)

SOLV(25.0,25.0,25.0,25.0)

VALUE(35.00)

PRESS(-0.3)

TIME(      0)

<OK>

I was just wondering, is there any chance to pick values for VALUE and PRESS using blocks? Because for a simple String Tag like SOLV(25.0,25.0,25.0,25.0) is easy to pick any value using FIND,LEFT or RIGHT. Just for this bigger String I really don't know how to proceed.

I am very beginner in this field, have tried to learn by myself but I really got stuck.
