Hi all, 

I am trying to install the panel images for WinCC V19, but unfortunately, I encountered the following error message during the installation:

"In order to optimize the size of the standard installation, as of TIA Portal V17 the HMI device images of all SIMATIC HMI devices have been moved to an additional DVD. If you want to transfer HMI devices, install the respective image files from the DVD „SIMATIC WinCC Panel Images for TIA Portal V19“."

But if i search for these panel images in SIE portal, i could not find them. Only unified panel images, but i dont need unified panels, only the basic and comfort panels. 

Has anyone faced this too? Does anyone know where i can find these files?

Note that no further (major) development to the HMI firmware has taken place since V17. The images given in the link may not match your software version, but it still applies to the HMIs you use. This is also mentioned in the provided link.

I am using the SIMATIC HMI KTP1200 Basic: 6AV2123-2MB03-0AX0 HMI, latest update is V17 Upd. 7. Does that mean i should not use V18 or V19?

No further major development of HMI firmwares, does that mean they are end of life? Is siemens only going to support unified panels in the future? No more support for HMI's after tia portal V17?

Hi all,

I had this issue recently and wanted to share my work around.

I already had all the panel images installed on my PG but they were installed for Tia Portal V17 not V19.

I copied the panel images from the V17 folder and pasted them to the V19 folder path.

C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V17\Data\Hmi\Transfer\17.0 - COPIED

C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\Transfer\17.0 - PASTED (When prompted I skipped the files that are already there).

Nearly the same thing happened to me, thank you so much for this comment.

For others, I'm running TIA portal V19, trying to update our old V15.1 project. 

Be sure to change the device version of the HMI to V17.00.00 inside the TIA project.

I ran the PIU tool and selected V19, V17.00.00.00, V17.00.00.08

It installed the images into:
C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\Transfer\17.0

(for me it put them inside the V19 parent folder, but the 17.0 subfolder)
I copied all the folders it installed, pasted them into 

C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\Portal V19\Data\Hmi\Transfer\19.0

And now everything is working fine. Cheers.
