Request for Support and Assistance for Developing a Custom Application Using IOT2050

Greetings,

We need support to create a custom program that connects theIOT2050via PROFINET with theET200SPremote and collects information from some modules to enable its integration with another application for cloud data reception. Currently, we have the4XRTD/TC I/O Module, and we added the XML file generated in the TIA PORTAL with information about the equipment structure at the specified path [Document 1]

We executed the test program provided in the ISO of theIOT2050 Realtime with PROFINET Controllerunder thetest_appprogram. After typing9 (SET MOD PNIO_MODE_OPERATE), the following error occurs [Document 2]

The lights on theET200SP remoteflash as follows the image (red blinking)

which makes us suspect the compilation files of thetest_appprogram (provided in the ISO) may lack the structure information of the equipment in use. Based on this premise, we believe we need to compile our application using the files provided and include information about our specific hardware structure.

We downloaded the file109741799_RT_PNDriver_IOT2050.zip, but we have questions about the version. We are usingIOT2050 FS04and installed the ISO with RT and PN v2.3.

Questions

1. Which version of the PROFINET DRIVER should we compile?

   • On the download page, we found the Linux ISO with PN Driver v2.3, but we also noticed PN Driver v3.0 is available.

   • Do both work for our purposes?

2. Development Environment Compatibility:

   • According to thePN Driver Quick Start Guide v2.3 (2021), Debian 10 with kernel 4.19 is required to create a development environment. Since it's now 2024, some development libraries might no longer be compatible.

   • We are stuck setting up the development environment and testing data return using the test_app executable included in the ISO.
