SPPA T2000 S5 based on simatic S5 CPU going to be retired due to SIMATIC S5 CPU155H end of production on 2015 and only available as spare part only. For Live Extention of the SPPA T2000, Siemens PG already Release SPPA T2000 V8.1 based on CPU Simatic S7, So SPPA never be obsolute !. http://instrumentandcontrol.blogspot.com/2008/07/teleperm-xp-sppa-t2000-v81-release-for.html Upgrade from S5 based to S7 based is strigh forward. http://instrumentandcontrol.blogspot.com/2008/07/upgrade-teleperm-xp-s5-to-s7-sppa-t2000.html
