You should really be asking this on the support side of the official Profibus/Profinet organization's web site (inside the paywall which is needed for GSDML developers).

Hello,

I'm developing a PROFINET device and I'm getting a device type mismatch error in TIA Portal.  I've looked at my GSDML file and compared the vendor ID and device ID with the data in the DCP response (viewed using wireshark) and the data looks consistent but I still get the error.  Can anyone tell me what data elements in a DCP response need to match which data elements in a GSDML file to allow TIA Portal to allow a connection.

OK.  I thought it would be a TIA Portal Algorithm that compared the data coming from the device with the data in the GSDML file and flagging an error.  I also assumed TIA Portal is defining “Device Type” as some sort of combination of data because the definitions in the PROFINET spec or GSDML spec are very simple.
