Dear Coda, According to my latest information there is not really possible to connect the S7300 CPU to the PC direcly via serial line if you want to communicate with Wonderware product. There are 3 possibilities what we usually use to connect the Siemens CPU to the Wonderware (InTouch)softwares. 1. Insert an ethernet card next to the CPU and use DASSIDirect DASServer (I/O server)from wonderware. THIS IS THE BEST AND EASIEST SOLLUTION!!!! 2. If use insist for the MPI communication you should buy a CP5611 CP card from Siemens into your PC and you should buy the Simatic Net (for profibus) software (also comming from Siemens) and can establish the communication between the InTouch and between the Simatic Net via OPCLink (I/O server from Wonderware). 3. There is a protocol converter (called echolink)comming from INAT. With this converter you can convert the MPI into Ethernet. You can buy also an OPC server to this echolink and can use the OPCLink from Wonderawre. If you need more information please be so kind and visit the www.wonderware.com -> technical forum or contact me...... Regards, Norbert |

Hi, You can use Kepware Siemens S7 MPI OPC Server: OPC-SMS7M-NA00. It supports Wonderware SuiteLink protocol, so Linking InTouch and S7-300 is easy. You must have MPI/RS232 converter. PC adapter USB is not suported. Please find more info for Kepware on: http://www.kepware.com/Spec_Sheets/Siemens_S7_MPI.html Bojc. |
