Hello Mathias, as far as you want to connect tablet PCs and PGs only you don't need an Access Point whichsupports iPCF, which is necessary for Profinet. I guess you want tomount the Access Point indoor? In this case you could use an W788-1PRO which you can mount indoor but outside of cabinet: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/27095871 There are also the new 802.11n Access Point (if your PG support 802.11n)available where you can achieve datarates of round about 450 Mbit/s brutto (with MIMO antennas): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/48333854 The antennas you can use depends on the environment in your plant and the distances you want to achieve between Access Point and Client applications. You should make some test measurements to make sure that the signal quality is enough in ever area. There is also some information abou wireless technologie in these manuals: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/60533010 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/9975764 Hope this will already help |
