Hi Tomy, It always easier to add a drawing to request for such projects but if you say that the cars are always within 50 meter of the central point I'm sure the following solutions would be one of the better ways to deploy this: First of all the CPU and the IO should support Profinet IO. For example a S7-315 and an ET200S or ET200SP. The fastes update time fo rthese wirelessly connected IO station should be not faster then 32 ms (this can be set in Step 7). If a lower update time is possible (64, 128) for your application use it since this would make the system more stable. So that's is the part where you are familiar with, let's go to the Wireless LAN part. Check or there is any Wireless network in that area. This can be done by your PC by checking the available WLAN networks, Network Stumbler is a nice tool to use. Find out on which channel they are and make sure you use a different channel. Information about wireless channels can be found in the following document: Basics on setting up an Industrial Wireless LAN Then the product slection, the most important is the antenna you select. If you'd like to cover an area which is 50 meter all around the center point I would suggest to use an Omni directional antenna which radiates in a circle. Since 5 GHz is in most cases the best to use for industrial applications (less interference) I would suggest to use a 5 GHz antenna. This could be the ANT793-6MN. As an Access Point you could either pick an IP30 or an IP65 the IP30 would be the SCALANCE W784-1RR, the IP65 would be the SCALANCE W788-1RR. Both are able to be set in a special mode for profinet IO communication which is called iPCF (see the manual above). As a client you could also use the SCALANCE W747-1 (IP30) or the SCALANCE W747-1 (IP65). Depending on thepossible mounting on the vehicle you could use several antennas. The best selection for a moving vehicle is in most cases the ANT795-6MN which can be mounted directly on a surface. Since I suggested external antennas you need also cables which I would make as short as possible. This could be the 6XV1875-5CH10 (1 meter) or the 6XV1875-5CH10 (5 meter). Shorter is better due to less loss. I hope this gives you an idea on how to get your application to work. |
