Hello Sqruel no problems with using either OLM's and/or Repeaters behind a Y-Link (you can even usean OLM ring if you wish). The Y-Link forms a new independent DP Master systemand youcan set it's Profibusproperties independently (including specifying the number of OLM's and/or repeatersso that the bus timing iscalculated accordingly). The only thing you want to check before adding anotherDP Slave to your Y-Link is that you don't "break" its244 Byte I/O Limit. I hope this helps |

Thank you for your explanation. Silly question but how can I check if I'm not breaking the 244 byte limit? |

Hello Sqruel Option 1: Manually add up all Input Bytes and all output Bytesof all DP Slave behind the Y-Link and make sure the Sum of Inputs orthe Sum of Outputs does NOT exceed 244 Bytes. Option 2: Let Step 7 HWconfig do the job for you and do a test config (it'll pop up a warning shouldyou"break"the 244 ByteLimit) |
