I need to collect real-time history data on our company-wide historian. We have a PCS7 system at a second site (v8.0) from which we do the same. When I configured that site, all I had to do to get access to the real-time history data is to add the WinCC Connectivity license. Once I did, I was able to see all of the configured tags in my OPC client.
With the system in NY, which is on v7.1, I purchased the proper version of the WinCC Connectivity Pack, installed the license, and I am not able to see any tags via a client connection to the OPCServer.WinCC application. I can connect to the WinCC OPC server, but get an "E_UNKNOWN_ITEM_NAME IOPCBrowse.Browse" error when I try to view tags via OPC Scout. See attached screen print.
