Hi Experts, I have some questions related the scalance topology. I've been called for fix a problem in a TCP modbus comunication, between a CPU 315 2PN-DP, and a slave. After some checks i've found out that the ethernet port of the slave was completely freezed, and it doesn't answer at any ping coming from my laptop. At the end, the only way to solve this problem, has been restart my slave. After some days studing the network topology, i think could exist some mistake. In my configuration, there are four scalance x206-1 connected in a ring mode without any redundancy manager, and probably without the ports 1 and 2 configured for redundant configuration. Further more i've read in a scalance manual as follows: "Please note that the direct connection of two ports on the switch or accidental connection over several switches causes an illegal loop. Such a loop can lead to network overload and network failures." Attached you can find the network topology. I need to understand with your help, if the slave's ethernet port could be freezed due to a loop comunication, due to a wrong network topology. Regards. Duccio.
