Hello all,

I have a system with multiple S7-300 PLCs.  Currently, there is a 319F-3 PLC which is sending some safety bits to a 315F-2 using and i-device setup and using F_RCVDP and F_SENDDP blocks.

I was hoping to add another 315F-2 PLC to get the safety signals from the 319F-3 using a similar method.  Is it possible to set up the 319F-3 so it is sending the same safety bits to both 315F-2 PLCs simultaneously?  Is there any way to do this over profinet?

Do you really mean simultaneous? Or just to have communcation to two PLC´s?

I´m not sure if it is possible to have the communication really simultaneous. The safe-communication works with communication blocks and these blocks can not be called to the same time, only one after an other. And for the simultaneous receiving in 315F-controllers you have to synchronize the F-Call where the receive-blocks are called.

I have also a problem with "simultaneously". I think it´s possible to communicate to several PLCs / I-Devices.

You are correct, I did not truly mean 'simultaneous'.  I just meant that one PLC can communicate safety signals to two other PLCs without anything interfering with each other or timing out.

So if my understanding is correct, the i-device setup in the 319F-3 will remain the same. I can use the same GSD file for that i-device and insert it into the hardware config for each of the 315F-2 PLCs?

Then the 319F safety program will have two F_RCVDP blocks and two F_SENDDP blocks, one set for each 315F.  And each 315F will only have one F_RCVDP and one F_SENDDP block?

yes, when the confuguration of the two 315F is the same.
