Perhaps you would be willing to post a screenshot of your PLC logic around the MB_ blocks, the hardware configuration of the CB1241 V1.0, including the ABB B23's baud / partity / unit ID settings. What remote (ABB B23) addresses are you trying to read? Are you starting with just one so you can get the comms working before diving in and going after all of it? In the CB1241 received message configuration, if you are only communicating with one Modbus device, you can configure the receipt to start by recognizing a new message with start character 1 (0x01 HEX) if the ABB B23's Modbus unit id is 1 (the default I think). This Modbus protocol document may be helpful: http://modbus.org/docs/PI_MBUS_300.pdf

Maybe this Siemens example will help: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/47756141 It could be as simple as a wiring problem. Check the attached reference drawing provided by Siemens from the support site for that part. |

Duris and huggy, Both, thank you very much for the information so far. Let begin answering your questions. The included screenshot is the logic i have programmed so far (more screenshots will follow). Both units are (confirmed) set on: - no parity
I think the wiring is correct. The A of the meter is connected to the TA and so on for the TB terminal. Altought there is an "C" terminal available on the B23, but i dont understand his use?. So for me i will gladly read the given PDF file huggy!
And Where can i buy or download an PC modbus application to check the communication? Kind regards thus far, Lennard |
