Hi Guys,

I have never set this up before, i get the I/O bit ok but when i connect the pumps to the PLC i get LED1 flashing red. I can ping both pumps but the PLC cannot see the devices even though all in the same network.Any advice would be helpful.

Split from Profinet data from Grundfos CIM 500.

Hi Jay,

I had set it up with Profinet on the CIM card but could not get this to work properly, see below for configuration;

1, Configured both pumps on switch 0 (profinet) with ip addresses.

2. configrued S7 1200 with gdmsl files and set ip addresses.

3. configured topology in s7 1200

4. compiled and downloaded.

The red LED1 kept flashing approximately every 5 seconds which i believe is profinet failure to find master device. All devices on a switch with default gateways set. 1st time to do this so a little green behind the ears.

i can get it to work on modbus no problem but i'd rather use profinet.

Hi Gary,

 I would suggest first use Grundfoss software to read out thevaluest using Profinet communication. It is to ensure that before connecting to PLC, whether you were able to read the Pump values using your Laptop. Also make sure you didn't have any IP Address conflicts. In Grundfoss pump, if you setup Network protocol and your Profinet set-up to be in the same IP, then it won't communicate. I had faced this problem and only after changing the IP then I was able to configure Profinet properly.

Thanks for your reply, i will try the grundfos software to see how i get on.

Regarding the IP address i set up the pump 192.168.100.28, in the PLC i set the grundfos config the same address within the device view. The PLC IP is 192.168.100.23.
