I am a new user of Siemens TIA Portal 15.1. I would like to simulate profinet and profibus network examples.

I succeeded in configuring a simple example of a profinet network with two PLCs one working as a server and the second as a client. I used the GET function for the communication.

Everything is oK. I can see in the watch table the messages going from server to client, but I need to catch these messages using the wireshark software. I cannot succeed to do it. My PLCs are configured with the 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 addresses. On which interface should I capture the traffic?

Hi,

you need a network TAP to break out the traffic from your PROFINET line.

Something like one of these devices:

it will not work with "normal" switches, since they will not forward all telegrams to all ports.

If you are just testing and don't care about interfering other network traffic. You can try with HUB, if you can still find one. It will forward all traffic.

you only can simulate Profinet in PLC Sim V15.1 there you cannot simulate with S71500/1200 and Profibus, only with profinet.
