Hello colleagues,

I have a problem with a system in which we are currently making a field signal test.

I am using PCS7 V9.0 SP2.

The PCS7AnIn block doesn't write to it's PV_Out variable when not in simulation. I can overwrite it manually from the VAT and it stays like this until I enable simulation. There is no fault and no BAD signal. PV_In has a valid value which is from a real working sensor.
I noticed something which I think is worth mentioning - when selecting the PIW - the block doesn't automatically create the MS, DataXchg, Mode, MS_Xchg and so on connections to the AI diagnostic data. Can this be the problem and what might be the source of this?

Digital inputs are working fine. It's only the analog ones that are doing this...

yes, that data might affect your result. There is one possibility that i could think of, your block version is wrong or you did not install the library and use the latest block. 

To check/fix it, 

1. open up the block properties of PCS7AnIn, check the version of the block. If it is the latest one, then maybe you have other types of issue. you may also update your libraries to the current version and try again 5. Library.  

2. If the block version is wrong, please go to Simatic manager - > open-> library-> select PCS 7 V9 library -> look for your block in the block folder -> copy and paste in your master data library and your block folder 

3. go to your cfc editor->option->block type-> select the blocks that you imported-> press the "->" from block folder to chart folder -> update- >yes. Done. 

Try to compile with generate module driver, and see whether the issue resolved.

Some remarks:

• Are you using SIMATIC PDM? In combination with HART input cards?
  Then a device should be configured in the hardware config. or HART should be disabled
• Is the hardware used in the list of approved devices?

  If not the moduledriver connections will not be connected and standard diagnoses is not available.

A work around to get the value out is to put de input DataXchg1 to 16#4

I found the problem - It was purely my fault... Because I find it more easy to edit the symbols through the symbol table, I had put all the IW and QW addresses as PIW and PQW which was not likes by the compiler. Going through old PCS7 projects I noticed that right clicking on the interconnection and clicking on "Go to I/O module" leads to the actual IO module in the HW config. Deciding it is an address fault I noticed this difference and as soon as I corrected it - all the system generated connections were there. Now all is fine :)
