Hello AutoGen, Can you confirm whether Electronic Control unit supports
In the case it is J1939 than usage of Siemens gateway pn/J1939 link module6 BK1623-0AA00-0AA0 should be exactly what do you need. You have mentioned you are missing EDS file from the manufacturer side. Have you tried to contact them, send them an email or...? Even without EDS file you can enter data manually into the parameter i/o fields inside HW configuration. Can you share with us what were your error codes or error messages? I recommend you usage of some Can Analyzer directly on your PC. Something like this for an example Can 2 USB adapter . It comes with Analyzer software and it gives you ability to track all the message frames in between you and device, also there is possibility to send into CAN network any message frame you construct, therefor it is possible to find out manufacturer data which I stored usually as EDS file. In the case it is About General Can or CanOpen protocol than for sure you need different Siemens module. In that case take a read on following post : Can/CanOpen Siemens modules No matter what protocol is all about, no matter what gateway you choice, in all cases EDS file would be recommended, but not necessary. Hello AutoGen, If it is a case of J1939 than module pn/CAN won't help you out, and modeule pn(j1939 is all you need. Have you take a look of the following document : Simatic pn/J1939 There you can find structure of J1939 device name, The device name is a numeric 64-bit value. Parameters or the corresponding device name are configured in the TIA Portal. All necessary information should have been entered from manufacturer itself. Based on that contact your device manufacturer or visit its website for further missing information. Best Regards Soble |
