Hi,

How to reset (turn off blinking red error LED's) on the RF680R controller after an error has occurred (for example TAG reading error)?

After execute Reset_Reader I get DONE status (STATUS_LAST_CMD_INIT=TRUE, ), but LED's still blinking (on the WBM web page reader status is green and Run).

My hardware: RF680R (firmware v3.2.1) + RF680A connected to CPU 1511-1PN, TiA 15.1.

With Siemens automation equipment the answer to that question is generally very simple: if diagnostic LEDs are active it signifies the unit has encountered a problem that needs your attention. The only way to "inhibit" your diagnostic LEDs is to correct the fault they are pointing to (follow the link to "Error Messages" in the page below).

The RF680R manual shows different ways to determine the source of he error, including a description of the diagnostic LEDs (see the screeshot below):

I sent the command READ_EPC_MEM without RFID tag. I received error 0xA1 on LED status bar (There is no transponder with the required EPC-ID in the transmission window). Correctly.

Then I sent a RESET_READER, put the TAG into antenna field and again start READ_EPC_MEM. I received the data without errors, red LED's on the status bar and ER are flashing all the time.

I don't know what else to do (except power off, it helps).

at your screenshot I can see that there's no error present (green "run" on top). Have you checked the manual for why the  LEDs are flashing?

The manual tells how to read the error, but there I can't find information how to acknowledge the out-of-date error. "Reset_Reader" block work correctly in PLC program, but R/S, ER and status LED flashing during normal operation all the time until the power is turned off.

According to the "SIMATIC RF650R/RF680R/RF685R Configuration Manual":

- R/S and ER flashing - The device is ready for operation, the connection is established but an error has occurred.

- LED status display - error code in hexadecimal.

0xA1, but for me it's a obsolete alarm.

Yes, I have latest version 3.2.1.

Firmware V3.2.1 for SIMATIC RF610R, RF615R, RF650R, RF680R, RF685R.

Probably the only way to fix it is black insulating tape on the LED's and reading error codes only by PLC software ;)
