The target is giving a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps. As from the TIA V16, there was the introduction of the WinCC Unified. This is an engineering platform for HMI Comfort Unified and for WinCC Unified PC. It brings many news regarding the WinCC Advanced / WinCC Professional. One of this is that the User Management is now centralized on the project (in the project tree, Security settings). There is many ways to configure the user / password polices and rights (locally, centrally, etc). This sample exeample shows how to configure it in the simplest way. The project has 3 picture, and two project local defined users (Banane, password Banane01! and Orange, password Orange01!). The user Banane has access to screen 1 (no protected) and screen 2 (rule1). The user Orange has access to screen 1 (no protected) and screen 3 (rule2). Configuration main steps: Create Roles (Optional): Project tree: Security settings, Users and roles, Roles (tab), <add new role>; in the intermediary widows (between main window and inspector window): set the function rights to the role. TIPs: As default there is already three roles that cover the general cases: HMI_Adminstrator (User Administration, Remote Access, Remote Configuration, Web Access, Monitor, OPC UA, Openness) HMI_Operator (Web Access, operator) HMI_Monitor (Web Access, monitor) Create Users: Project tree: Security settings, Users and roles, <add new user>; in the intermediary widows (between main window and inspector window), tab Assigned roles: set the role to the user. Limiting the access in the project: open a project, open a window, select the interest object (e.g. buttons or IO field): properties, Security, Authorization = set the authorization level to the action. TIPs: You can create a button to logoff, with the sistem fuction LogOff. You can see the actual loggin user with the system tag @UserName After a logoff the operation window will, automatically ask for new user/password. Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/4/2024 Posts: 4351 Rating: (1452)	...taking the opportunity... in TIA V17 we had some news, regarding users and permissions: There is no more an Administrator user, defined on “WinCC Unified Configuration”. That means, that to access your application either you define a local user (as usual for PROTOOL WinCC flexible, and other HMI) or use a UMC global user. Then follow the steps to configure a local user: Project tree, Security settings, Users and roles, tab Users, <add new user> , Add new local user: give a username and a password Assigned roles tab, mark at least one role as from V17 it is also possible to create specific rights. Configuration steps: Create a user specific rights: Security settings, Users and roles, top area, Roles tab, intermediary area, User-specific runtime rights. Create a user specific rule: Security settings, Users and roles, top area, Roles tab, <add new role>, intermediary area, Runtime rights tab, Runtime rights, WinCC Unified SCADA System, select the HMI, right side, select the rights. Create a local user (as described above) The access restriction is done in the screen object properties: Object properties, security, authorization, set the desired right. TIP: As default the download is set to keep the running users and passwords. For the first download in special is necessary to uncheck this option. It is done in the download screen under: Runtime values, Keep current user administration data in runtime. If you try to access a not permitted object, the runtime will show a error message (for runtime) our a login prompt (HMI). If you would like to change the user in the runtime system, just give a logoff command. If you are using local users and you miss several times your password the user will be locked. Alternatives: download the project again or user the User administration page to create a new user. About V17, see post of 25/06/2021 Project (.zap16 ziped as .zip) You said that logging off, a window should appear and ask for a new user, but this is not the case for me. I'm working with WinCC Unified V16 and a MTP700 Unified Comfort. I have a screen with some objects that are visible depending on the @Username and when I press the LogOff button they disappear but no window pop up asking for a new user. Any idea? Thanks in advanced. Edit: Found a solution, I leave it here just in case anyone needs it, and if there is an easier way to solve it just let me know please. Working on your project UserAdmin: 1-I've added Right03 to Role01 and Role02. 2-Then changed the Authorization level of the LogOff button to Right03. 3-Finally, moved "LogOff" event at the LogOff button from Left-Click to Press, so that releasing the button make Log In window to appear.

I have a Lock out user , also if down load again, always locked.

As from TIA V19 too, there is a new system function (ShowLoginDialog) to be used to change users.
