Hi all,

I tried migrate PLC backup from Simatic manager to TIA14 but i got error "PROTOOL software is missing in simatic manager" so i cant migrate it then i tried to install simatic Protool 6.0+sp3 but i got error "the operating system does not support" so please let me know how to solve it . i have Windows 7 in my PC

Hi Mayilsami,

You can try this:

1 Save a copy of the Original  Simatic project
2 Open one copy the Simatic Project (keep the other as backup)
3 Save it by using the Save As function
4 Tick the option 'with reorganisation'

The result is a step 7 V5.x project without any reference to Protool
Are you sure there is a Protool project in the step 7 program?
You can get this error if the project was created on a PC that had Protool installled, even if there is no (longer) a Protool project in the step7 file

If there is a Prolool project in the Step 7 project, you can try to convert it first to WinCC flexible

For me, the result is an error.

I got a message before this to try and open the program with SCOUT, STARTER or S7 Config to change the version of the program. I have no idea what to do about this except to actually get PROTOOL, but I don't think I can install that on a system running Win10.

EDIT: Not sure why this was split off since this issue comes from following the steps in the original post, but whatever.

In the meantime I got an answer from our support, which is to ignore the protool message. Works for me.
