It would help if you could be a little more specific. * Does the timing need to carry itself over a power failure? * Should the time be based on date and time or run only when the PLC does? Some design ideas.. You could consider using IEC Timers to extend your timer reach. IEC Timers can be found under the librbaries heading of the instructions. The problem however is that the 30 day time is longer than the IEC timer can handle. Next you could combine a timer and counter. Have the timer run for an hour and then this triggers a counter. Other ideas (examples within this forum).. * Run time meter * Time and date reading (Time of Day) * Time interrupts (Time of Day) I hope this kick-starts your discussion. w

sky angel Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi, I want to use 30 days timer for to change over from Pump-1 run to Pump-2 run. After Pump-1 running 30 days, automatically change to run Pump-2 (standby pump). For 7 days timer, When Tank level is high high , after 7 days , I want to start Process-1 automatically. For 8 days timer, when Tank level is high high , after 8 days, I want to start Process-2 automatically. Please kindly advise how to do it. If any sample program, please kindly help to send. For your own development I think it best for you to give us code as we may evaluate it. You are welcome to search for "engine hours" and "run time meter" or equivalent. Your search should deliver some code ideas. I will however give you a recipe idea: 1. a condition & not the timer coil >> timer set for 1 minute 2. timer coil triggered >> minute counter := minute counter + 1 3. minute counter >= 60 >> (a) minute counter := 0 >> (b) INT variable := INT variable + 1 4. INT variable bigger than preset hour value >> execute an action - "a condition" can be the tank that is filled / pump is running / ++ - "preset hour value" is the time values you specified.. recalculated in hours. - "action" represent the task than you need to do Please believe me.. it takes me longer to write this out in English than it would be to code it. Hopefully you learn more in this way, which in the long run is best. So please look it through and try to write some of your own code. Thanks & Best Regards, sky Sky, There is nothing wrong with the way you have programmed the IEC Timer. The time value is correct. The syntax is good. The question is how you want to use it.. and that is more a grey area. My issues with what I see here is.. 1. Why use Q300.4 and MD800? 2. Do you realise that MD800 is in [ms] units?.. what does M90.0 do? 3. Realise that you have a TON timer which will reset to zero if the input goes zero or the PLC loose power - Is this a problem for you or is it how your process needs it? w

Thanks & Best Regards, sky 1-Where (in the program) do you activate the process start , this is not clear in your attached picture. i mean where u use Q300.4 2-also enegizing this timer by this way is dangeoures . you may loose timer activation easly. 3-the program seems to be weak. 4-if you attach the whole program . may we can help more better. thanks ............................ mohamed elokby
