Does someone have a definatve way to communicate with modbus by logo? i have a energy monitor that is modbus and i am using a waveshare modbus to network convertor, the address of the device is 1 and the ip address is 192.168.1.200 this i get looking through the address list from the device to address voltage is 0002/0010 which bit am i adding to the logo is it 0002. i guess the next question is on the modbus connection which of the points am i using to red into the logo HR or IR and what does this mean, i guess im using the VW and then asinging the data through the PLC as network analogue input then where do i go do i sue it as an analogue its unclear to me how i show the voltage. Another question is can i use a plc for a program as well as add the modbus data into the code even if at the end?? im sure i will have more questions..

So i am a bit further forward but no success so far, my (waveshare) rs485 convertor is on address 1 and the IP is on 192.168.1.200, i have set it to 502 having read that this is the port for Modbus.

The data i want to read is listed as 0002/0010 i think this is 2  for the modbus address, i have read that sometimes the count starts at 0 so this can offset the address i have tried this at 1 and nothing.

I have used the Network Analogue Input and set it to Remote and followed the setup as above i get nothing, I have set the display to read or see the analogue Amplifier and i still can see 0.00, what other detail can i add or can i use to read this device or see it it is working.

Which modbus device is it?

I've never read such a poor manual as the one for the OB115-Mod Single Phase 1 Module Energy Meter.

There's no information about whether the registers are Input Registers (IR) or Holding Registers (HR).

There's no information about whether the data format is Float or DInt. The only useful information is that they are 4-byte values ​​(32 bits). So you can't read the data with an analog network input.

It's important to note that the Modbus addressing for LOGO! is 1-based.

So i did try a loat interger Convertor But the setup is different and again i get HR or IR thanks anyway
