Sadly, implementation of reading HART variables remains an undiscussed topic on this user forum. So I can only speculate. 1. Client Out of curiosity, what are you using to configure the card, TIA, STEP 7 or GSD? 2. AI card manual https://cache.industry.siemens.com/dl/files/964/105037964/att_111705/v1/73029283339_en-US.pdf 3. 4 variables per channel The manual seems to say that you can get 4 variables per channel. page 28 (pdf) "A maximum of four HART variables supported by the connected field device can be cyclically read per channel with activated HART functionality. The HART variables are read automatically using HART command 3 (for field devices with HART Rev. 5) or command 9 (for field devices with HART Rev. 6 or higher). These four HART variables per channel are always stored in HART variable data record 121 and can be read at any time. See section HART variable data record (Page 61)" I have no idea where or how one accesses data record 121, but that's where the data resides. 4. There is discussion of mapping HART variables on page 37, which I assume affects what gets polled by HART, and must relate to the development software that accesses the module, the software options described on page 39. Note on page 39, under "Configuration Options", only two of four choices includes "4 variables", which infers a configuration parameter the globally affects the HART operation. The other 2 options are analog only, no HART. 5. If you manage to read multiple HART variables per channel to assigned tags, then feedback on how you accomplished that, with which software and hardware would benefit the user community. |
