jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, To detect if you have a physical problem: - add the PC to the switch (straight cable if you don't know if the switch supports autocrossing), and set its IP address in the same subnet. - add the 317, and the CP on that switch (straight cable is OK, but crossed will also work). - on the CP and on the CPU, the LINK LED or the used Port LED (P1 or P2) must lit (green or yellow). - ping the 317 and the CP from the PC. Must be successufull. This should in fact already be OK if you were able todownload each CPU with itsconnection definition (or its program) using Ethernet. Always based upon an S7 connection, I can tell you this: - you have to define it in STEP7 (just the way you did in the project you uploaded at the beginning) - you must download that connection definition in both systems (your 317 and 315 with CP) - you can check that communication comes up in NETPRO itself by activating the connection status in NETPRO (walk trough the menus in NETPRO and you will see that you can display the connection status). - the connection should establisch itself, even if no communication program runs in the CPUs. - If you use the FB PUT or FB GET, there is only a program on one side (the side taking initiative). Is may be easier because you cannot make a mistake in ID for instance. - If you use BSEND on one side, a BRCV is required on the other side. A mistake on any side will avoid the communication to work. - for the CPU you use the FB from the standard library, for the CP the FBs from the CP library. - be sure they were loaded in the CPU.

I think on my side it is working well (the CPU side), but for the side with CP, we still have some trouble. We have put the FB12 and FB13 from the CP Library, but we are not able to save the FB100 where we call them. We'll try again tomorrow morning. smonges Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Thank you Leon, Finally, I made from my side (CPU only) the communication blocks with FB14 GET and FB15 PUT, as shown in example, and it´s working well. As adviced, it is easier to configure, as it is done only on one side. We have defined 90 bytes (integers, reals, bool, words) and communication is OK. We´ll try later on with BSEND and BRECEIVE, but for the moment, we´ll leave it like it is. Many tanks to all.
