One customer has a custom board that actually communicate with an Arduino Uno board via UART serial communication on Tx/Rx Pins 0/1 (TTL). Now we are trying to use IOT2040 in replacement of Arduino because we want to exchange with this custom board some variables from a S7 PLC.

IOT will be a gateway from PLC to Custom Board. I attach two figures of this custom board.

So, we are thinking to use Node-RED, S7-comm node and Serial node in order to realize the application.

My question are:

• it's possible from IOT via Serial node to exchange data with this custom board?
• what is the name (ttySxx) of TTY port on pin 0/1 ?
• there are particular settings to do on IOT and Linux system?
• I had some problems with serial node and Node-RED, last time I tried to use it I get some crash and error like "illegal instruction" on Node-RED. You suggest to use Eclipse for this kind of application?

We are trying to really get  this customer, so if you can give me some help it will be very appreciated..
