Temperature in a Motor 1LA8 357-4PB80

Jom64 Member Joined: 2/1/2016 Last visit: 5/10/2022 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I would like tu know if 120ºC is a normal temperature in a motor type 1LA8 357-4PB80 working at 85% of its nominal power. You can meassure around 60ºC on the body of the motor. According to the manual 145ºC could be maximun temperature of the widings. The motor is working in a room where the temperature is around 40ºC an usually doors to allow fresh air to com inside the room are open but the temperature only change 3-4 ºC How can I check the PTC inside the motor and read the temperature that the are meassuring? Is there any manual showing the wiring of the PTC. Thaks to any one who can give me information.

A typical PTC evaluating device (e.g. SINAMICS control unit) gives at a dertemined Ohm value (>1610 Ohm) an accordingly signal. Second motor temperature: The base temperature of a el. motor is ruled, it is at 40°C environmental temperature. The motors isolation is split in certain classes in industrial usage mostly B and F and it is stamped on the motors name plate Details are found there: "Thermal classes" When the motor turns comparatively slow the cooling impact of the rotor mounted ventilator is comparatively less, hence it might be possible, that windings temperatur is a little bit higher. But the PTC will trip anyhow at its destinated temperature.
