Dear Jom64, First, please find here "Methods of measuring temperature" Here you see, that temperature measurement it self by a PTC is almost not possible, due to its steep curve. A typical PTC evaluating device (e.g. SINAMICS control unit) gives at a dertemined Ohm value (>1610 Ohm) an accordingly signal. Second motor temperature: The base temperature of a el. motor is ruled, it is at 40°C environmental temperature. The motors isolation is split in certain classes in industrial usage mostly B and F and it is stamped on the motors name plate Details are found there: "Thermal classes" When the motor turns comparatively slow the cooling impact of the rotor mounted ventilator is comparatively less, hence it might be possible, that windings temperatur is a little bit higher. But the PTC will trip anyhow at its destinated temperature.
