Will the torque of a servomotor with the same Kw and Rpm be as high or higher then that of an AC-motor? Or otherwise, will my motor be powerfull enough? In this case I don't know the exact specs of the AC motor only Kw and rmp. |

Hello David, You need to be careful to match the torque and speed range for the new motor to the old motor as # 1 priority. Using a rough calculation to calculate torque for old motor: Power (kW) = N(rpm) * Torque rated (Nm) / 9550 Torque rated(Nm) = 0.55 * 9550 /1500 Torque rated (Nm) = 3.5 Nm Therefore assuming the old motor is operating at or near its full torque capacity of 3.5 Nm and speed (i.e. rated motor data) Need to select motor that can supply at least 3.5 Nm of torque continuously @ 1500 rpm. Following is motor I would recommend closest to the motor specified in your question: 1FK7060-2AF71-1CA0 SIMOTICS S SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR 1FK7-CT PN=1,5 KW; UZK=600V M0=6NM (100K); NN=3000RPM; NATURAL AIR COOLING, FRAME SIZE IMB 5 (IM V1, IM V3) FLANGE 1 POWER CONNECTOR ROTATABLE ABSOLUTE ENCODER 24 BIT + 12 BIT MULTITURN WITH DRIVE-CLIQ INTERFACE (ENCODER AM24DQI) SHAFT WITH FITTED KEY, TOLERANCE N; W/O HOLDING BRAKE PROTECTION CLASS IP64; Note: You may need to choose a slightly larger amp servo drive as well to operate this motor in application. Rated current for above motor is approximately 3.7 amps. # 2 Priority: Inertia is also a little more on this motor as well, which will provide a little more control of load if a dynamic application (i.e. rapid speed and position changes). However, most likely since the old motor isasynchronous the application is nothighly dynamic. With the above motor theinertia is approximately half the asynchronous motor. Inertia = 0.000795 kg m2.
