upgrade an old servo motor

TanWH Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Dear Tech Team, We are trying to upgrade a Reliance old servo motor (SB-KH M-51026) with 55kW, 193A, 525Nm and 1000rpm. The encoder is 2048 incremental encoder. Can we use our 1PH8 Asynchronous Main motor 71kW, 1000rpm, 1PH8224-1JD00-0CA1 as replacement? Also, as a rule of thumb, how many kW rating we need to size for S120 415V AC/AC drive? I am planning to use braking resistor. Kindly advise Thanks

The better way would be if you could choose the motor regarding the application. What load, what cycle... Very helpful is the dimensioning tool SIZER. There you can choose your grid voltage, can input your cycle or only one rated point and you get the whole system with controller, cable etc. You can download the tool here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/54992004
