Hello HSCDP; One situation that will provoke a flood of error messages in your diagnostic buffer happens when either one of the first or last node on the Profibus network loses power, and the termination resistor is no longer powered and active. This causes reflections on the network that scramble the messages being transmitted and can cause the whole network to crash. This is briefly explained in this post from Profibus/Profinet North America: https://us.profinet.com/top-5-reasons-your-profibus-network-failed/ Where on your Profibus network was that failed slave? Did it have the terminator ON? If so activate (set it ON) the termination resistor on the next physical node, this should reduce the amount of error messages logged to the diagnostic buffer and let the network run more calmly. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
