Good Morning and a happy new year,

during my vacation one of our Students tried to load his TIA-Project to a PLC but he used the wrong IP-adress and thus loaded onto a completely different hardware (CPU 313c + CP343-1 instead of an ET200SP). Usually I could just fix it with the Simatic Automation Tool or directly in TIA-Portal, but somehow I can't this time.

Now this device is in error (red SF LED) and is not reachable by any means that I know. I can't find it with the Advanced IP Scanner, I don't see anything with wireshark or TCPView (even though the TxRx LEDs are blinking) and the Simatic Automation Tool also does not find the PLC. I already reseted the memory card and tested a direct ethernet connection but it also didn't help.

Is there any way I can change the IP-adress or at least find out what the current one is?

next possibility can be diagnostic option with MAC read and set IP via this option, same as in Step7 Manager where also via MAC you can read device and set then different IP or device name in case of PN f.ex.

Sry, now I see that different HW is there so problem is on MMC card. I recommend look at documentation for S7-300 CPUs types and look for reset MMC to HW default, this is good step in my opinion. It resets MMC to HW default and your PLC will be available again with cfg default settings (aka default clear HW). It is some key switch ON/OFF specific procedures with also OFF CPU prior set something, if i good remember. There is clear description with also CPUs LEDs what to expect and how to do that. On other side, I expect if you have another clear MMC you can do reset with this card and continue work but your bad MMC will be still with incorrect HW cfg and you need clear it still with that procedure.

Maybe it's possible to write project to MMC and then CPU turned off insert MMC and maybe CPU will load project from MMC and it will fixed?

 I tried writing the project to the MMC but for some reason I couldn't press okay. The MMC was recognized in TIA but when I selected it the checkbox was grayed out. I tried it with other MMCs as well and I couldn't do it with them either, so I guess I just did something wrong.

What I found out however is that whenever there is no MMC in the PLC I can reach it just fine with TIA and all other services. Of course I get the error message that there is not enough space when loading the program, but whenever I plug in ANY MMC I can't reach it anymore, even after a memory reset (I tried 4 MMCs that work in other PLCs, all with the same result). 

I managed to get an MPI cable and will try it that way, but I currently lack the time. Thank you all for your ideas, I will keep you updated.

and you did that test with RESET MMC as I recommended from S7-300 CPUs family manual? You can't reach CPU, you need power OFF CPU then RESET with CPU switch as is described in manual to factory default, also MMC will be erased. I had similar problem with ET200S CPU with inconsistent HW and prj downloaded and MMC also inside it. That steps resolved problem.

For sure, you have actually original ET200SP HW? This ET has MPI/DP port? If it is only PN CPU then your MPI cable isn't helpful. If you have ET200SP and not S7-300 (probbaly wrong HW cfg only) then check ET200SP manual for reset CPU and MMC to factory default cfg..

Simply for sure tell us what is your existed true HW PLC type because your Topic is also inside S7-300 Conference and from your first post It is somehow not clear to me as ' instead of ET200SP..'.
