Retentive Data Lost

Ross Regular Member Joined: 11/12/2006 Last visit: 11/9/2021 Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a CPU 1518F-4 PN/DP (6ES7 518-4FP00-0AB0) with the latest firmware (2.9.2). When the power is cycled on the CPU, most of the time the CPU powers up OK and automatically goes back into Run mode. But sometimes ( maybe 1 in 10) the CPU does not automatically go back into Run mode. When this occurs the diag buffer shows Retentive Data Lost (event ID 16# 02:4009). Screenshot attached. If that does not fix it, contact Siemens Support via Support Request (in the grey bar menu on this online support site). What is the solution to this? Regards Ross Umbers So expensive hardware, and so misbehaves... For the sake of curiosity, it is not clear from your post. Does plc program have a DB with retentive data and HW has onboard respective memory card? And once you noticed that a number,say, 2023 disappeared from retentive DB?

Mr.V Silver Member Joined: 6/19/2019 Last visit: 10/29/2024 Posts: 705 Rating: (76)	For us was same problem with retentive data lost and there was bad collected hardware, then we split out S7-1500 CPU we saw blented pin from one PCB board, (we straightened up it and problem solved) maybe this will help you too
