Split from WinCC 7.0 License installation problem.

Hi 8gard,

The Automation License Manager is used to install licenses for software from the Siemens Automation Portfolio on your local computer, to share licenses over the network, and to make them available to the software that needs them for use.

However, installing the Automation License Manager itself does not activate any software. If you launch software without a license, the Automation License Manager will suggest that you activate a trial license.

However, telling us more about the software you want to use and your licensing issues will help us give you the right feedback.

was a trial license for this softwar already used on the system and the older trial is already expired?

You can also post a screenshot of the exact message of missing license.

Hi thanks for the reply, i was currently trying to add a plc controller for my program which require me to activate STEP 7 licence for it. but the trial download only gave me a SIMATIC HMI Win cc advanced licence as shown,

that's strange because the trial license will be activated automatically whilst start of the program (and no other license is available). So in this case, a message to activate the trial license should pop up in STEP 7 when you trial to add an CPU.

At the moment I can not see a reason why this does not work.

But:
With which version of STEP 7 do you would like to configure your CPU? Because the screenshot of your trial license for WinCC shows TIA V16 was installed. Do you would like to use TIA? Because if you would like to use the "old" STEP 7 (SIMATIC Manager), probably the wrong installer was used.

• Which CPU do you would like to configure (S7-300/400/1200/1500)?
• Which version of STEP 7 (for TIA, or SIMATIC Manager) should be used?

If you would like to use TIA, please add a screensot of all installed software packages (TIA menu bar -> help -> installed software). Maybe only the WinCC package was installed.
