Simodrive 611A Replacement

AutoGen_5225625 Joined: 1/24/2025 Last visit: 12/30/2025 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello I have a old CNC machine that operate with SIEMENS SINUMERIK 840c and a SIMODRIVE 611D drive systsem. The main spindle drive has a part number "6SC6620-0AA01" and has a hardware problem, I want to replace this drive by an up to date SIEMENS one. The main spindle motor part number is "1PH6 206-4NF46-Z". I want to replace the main spindle drive only and remain the motor not replaced. What is the best option for this replacement?

nulizhang Platinum Expert Joined: 10/17/2007 Last visit: 1/12/2026 Posts: 4573 Rating: (416)	I do not suggest you to upgrade to SINAMICS --if you only change spindle drive , as #1--your CNC system 840C not easy to communicate with SINAMICS, (setpoint and feedback) #2--you may be possible to change spindle motor If you really want to upgrade to SINAMICS --I suggest to change every thing of your system CNC change to SINUMRIK 828D, ALL feed drive (X,Y, Z...) change to SINAMICS ,and all motors need to change --you need consulate to your local Siemens sales AutoGen_5225625 Hello; Thanks for your reply.
