However the 400H is not supported in TIA Portal. It must be programmed with Step7 V5.x. Regards, billwest |

DearIBN-Service, Is this some kind of real informationor some kind of vision/hunch? All i can see at this moment is contradicting to the assumption of new 1500 fault tolerant CPUs. - SIMATIC Manager STEP7 is going to be killed by the TIA. - However, SIMATIC PCS7 is going to continue as a software but withsome kind of different CPU with different CPU architecture/processors(1st time to see 450MHz multiprocessor). -Even the new CPU 410-5 will not be programmed by SIMATIC Manager or TIA (Only PCS7). . -Siemens has been striving to change customer's opinions in PCS7 as not a true DCS since it is based on a PLC ( which is 100% stupid/wrong). -Siemens promotes 410-5 as an exclusive controller for DCS systems. -I've been asking every Siemens guy I met why the TIA doesn't support H system and the answer was always PCS7 is the solution fortruefault tolerant systems. -So, I don't think we will see an 1500 competitor to the new 410-5H although I wish so. You know fault tolerant CPUs are not WinCC (i.e a new version every couple of months). I hope I'm wrong and if you have real information "not rumors" then I will be the ever happiest. Best regards, H-H
