CPU to STOP

LEDT Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Is it possible to keep the S7-1500 CPU running while removing an I/O module like the previous s7-300 by adding the OBs? This would help us very much without shutting the process down by replacing a module.

You can use same (almost) OB that were used in S7-300/400:

OB83: A pull or plug OB is called after removing or inserting a configured module.
Search in the TIA Portal help for more info on this OB.

In addition to this, you have all the diagnotic overview on the PLC screen and in the Webserver. It's very usefull and good implemented.

I tried to insert all the OBs you refered to and the CPU still turned to STOP when I unplugged a module for testing. My CPU is CPU 1513 with firmware v1.1. Thank you in advance.

In1500 as well as in300 CPUs unplugging local modulesin RUN mode is notsupported, however unplugging modules in Profinet-Devices or in Profibus-Slaves is supported.
