Sun27 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello! How can I connect AI on s7-313c (electricaly)? Can I use other analoginput(if they not defined as analog)as a Digital input? Or must I use them like AI? I use two-wireanalog 4-20mA input! Thanks!

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/11/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2691)	Hello Sun27; The following drawing should explain how to connect your 4-20 mA analog input to one of the 4 available channels on the S7-313C.Simply connect between the I input and the C, for each channel. Reading the analog input channels is simple, if you have not changed the default addressing of the CU. Channel 0 occupies PIW752. Channel 1 PIW754, Channel 3 PIW756.... If you wnat to scale the analog values, tointerpret the numerical value read by the module asengineering units, I suggest you use FC105, "SCALE", found in the TI-S7 Converting Blocks library, in the program editor of Step 7. Unfortunately, you cannot use an analog inputfor a digital signal, the electronis is too dissimilar. If you need more digital inputs in your application, you will need to buy and insert a digital input module in your PLC rack. I use two-wireanalog 4-20mA input! Thanks! Hi Sun, The CPU313C is not capable of directly supporting two wire analog modules. You can use an extra module that converts your 2 wire sensor to a 4 wire signal (safe method) Or you can place the 2 wire sensor in series with the analog input (this will work fine but if you somehow shortcut the sensor wiring the analog input will be damanged by overcurrent). To hook it up you connect the sensor + to the power supply (24VDC) and the sensor - wire to the analog input (for example pin 3 for AI channel 0). Then connect pin 4 to the ground (0 VDC) You cannot use an analog input as digital input.
