MPI in multiproject

FloatingPoint Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm working with a multiproject with several CPU. I have already synchronized the MPI network but I'm not able to configure MPI global data. I can't select other CPU to communicate with, so I don't know how to communicate between them. Thank you in advance!

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	For GD communication between CPU's in different projectsin a multiproject, essentially there are3 steps: 1. In NetPro merge the MPIsubnets from different projects. Care should be taken that the "other" unmerged subnets in each project (like for Profibus for example) should have unique subnet ID's. The network must be saved and compiled error free. 2. Create an S7 connection between the CPU's you want to communicate. 3. Use SFC60: GD_SND and SFC61: GD_RCV to transfer thedata. Please read carefully theGD communication section of the S7-300/400 System and Standard Functions manual for the limitations of GD communication. First of all I think it is not more possible to use Global Data communication in a multiproject without programming, is that right? So I accept we need SFC60 and SFC61. But then, when I try to define the global data I can't compile because I can't set the two CPU in the same grid. How can I use SFC60 if I can't configure the global data? Whatam Idoing wrong? Thanks again

If you are getting errors after save and compile post the screenshot of the errors. If save and compile is successful without any errors, then you can insert an S7 connection. In fact I already merged the networks and I defined a S7 connection between the CPU, but when I try to create global data it's not possible to assgin the second CPU to a column. The multiproject has two project called C5 and C6, each one has a MPI network (MPI C5 and MPI C6). I send you some screen shots. I hope it will help. Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Now I understand your problem! The GD table cannot be setup unless the second CPU is in the same rack (K bus) or in the same project. This is definitely a shortcoming. Once the MPI networks have been merged, the GD table should be to "see" the CPU in the other project.
