Report System Error

Ammy Platinum Member Joined: 4/19/2008 Last visit: 9/3/2024 Posts: 1525 Rating: (159)	Hi I am using CPU 317F PN,when I generate the Report System Error & download to PLC it show me the "Area length error when reading" &PLC goes in tostop mode,if I delete the Report System Error then downloaditPLC not shows any errorgoes in to the Runmode. So tell me what is the problem. Please find the attached screenshot for your refrence. If you requied then I can send the PLC backup also. Amit Attachment Area length read error.zip (288 Downloads)

pinpon Posts: 17 Rating: (3)	The program attempts to access a data that does not exist. In other words, the block of data exists, but the adress of the data that causes the problem is higher than the last data in the data block. Maybe there is indirect addressing.

Amit

Darius Platinum Expert Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 2957 Rating: (242)	Hello, It seems that DB which you try to read isn't loaded into PLCs memory. You must dowload it. If you want that your programming errors do not stop you PLC in the future, you must insert OB121 into your program and download it to PLC. OB121 can be only one instruction "BE". So if programming error occurs, you get SF led light,but PLC don't stop.
