Here "Usage of S7-1200 Memory Card" is written:

- At present, S7-1200 still cannot help the memory card realize such advanced functions as recipe and data archiving. 

But in this thread is discussing the exact opposite

So what is the catch?

Can anybody help me, i'm new at siemens, and i have only v13 and v14, and i can't open the v11 sample share in the begin.

Can someone share the program converted to V13 at least?

I need to use non-optimized block access (for Weintek Panel connecting), but example doesn't work in this case (log creating, opening, but do not writing). In my program (with more complex data structure) PLC changes to DEFECTIVE MODE by attempting to write record.

I'm thinking about 50 variables every second, different data types, mostly 16-bit data types.
I'd also have to put all the variables into an UDT, which is linked to the FB.

Working with a 1518F-4.

Just one more question for now concerning the log size.

When i generate logs they always turn out bigger in size than i predicted.

With the top of the line S7-1500 PLC, you should not see significant cycle time changes.

Heck, for s7-1200, you should probably not even notice a full 1ms cycle time change.  There is not a lot going on.  It is just moving data around, organizing data, and so on, and not really all that much of it.

I have managed all related to logging bu now.

But ... the order of records in CSV file is really dissappointting. as it overrides the newest to oldest one but does not re-order the coulmn elements. so it is almost impossible to use the csv as data base for chart making. i mean ...

reorder means to write all the stored values again to the sd card which decrease the lifetime of the card and needs as well processing time in the plc - make no sense from my point of view ;-)
And i guess that's also mentioned in the manual that the Data log behave like a ring buffer.

However, if you want to display the log in a chart you need at least to read the log via javascript, the reorder is just a simple thing in java :-)
