This is an older thread but for the benefit of people who come across this forum:

The software has not been discontinued.  That version of HMI Pro CS is older, but there are newer equivalent, it's up to V9 now.    It is sold as CreateMyHMI /Pro.

HMI Pro does not have a standard standalone PDF manual for the software itself.  Everything is contained within HMI Pro CS help.   It is quite extensive and has all of the info you would need.

Transline is  standard that can use HMI pro.   HMI Pro comes in two parts, HMI Pro CS and HMI Pro RT.   CS stands for commissioning software.  RT stands for Runtime.   HMI pro RT is an add-on into Sinumerik Operate.  It is normally used for CNCs, but Operate can be installed for a PLC based system.  Normally it is used with Automotive.  When it's used for automotive, it typically is following the transline standard.    The runtime version has to be compatible with the FW version  or version of Operate it is being installed into.   You can only download projects that you have the matching RT software installed on your PC.  You can install many versions of RT.   For HMI pro CS,   V9 will work with V8/V9 runtimes which would be Operate V4.8+ and Sinumerik One.     If you have Operate V4.7 or older, or HMI advanced, or Powerline, you can use HMI Pro CS V7.

When you install HMI Pro Runtime on your PC, it will create a folder in the C:\Siemens directory.   Inside of there, there are the transline toolboxes compatible with that version of runtime.  It will also have some PDFs on how to use those toolboxes.   This is typically an automotive implementation.  Often, they will require you to use a certain style control panel (MPP483 or other MPP) which the standard Sinumerik Toolbox blocks do not have blocks for.    So the transline toolbox will have many folders of blocks, and you use certain ones if you have a PLC based control, and other ones if you have a CNC based control.  The manuals in those folders will tell you what you need to use.  You do not need to use all of the blocks, because they are for different functions, you use the ones that match what you are trying to commission.
